7th graders in Mrs. Burrow's Genius hour presented their end of the 9 weeks projects. Some of the student projects included crocheting baby blankets for the NICU, experimenting with different batteries to charge cell phones, and the best way to throw a ball in any given sport.

On Thurs., Oct. 10th, HMS students celebrated the end to the first 9 Weeks with EPIC party. EPIC parties are earned by students who meet the following criteria during the 9 weeks; 90% attendance, 4 marks or less on student “Conduct Card” and all grades at 60% or higher.
There is no school on Monday, October 14, as teachers have a professional learning day.

FSF at HMS
Fight Song Friday visitors to HMS were the HHS Band. Ms. Freeman and her HS band played several songs and helped HMS students and staff sing our school fight song. Several band students spoke to MS students about being in the band in HS. Thank you Ms. Freeman and HS Band!

HMS students are understanding the value in supporting our school, teams and classmates with school spirit. These students made signs to display at our HMS football game against Scott City. #HMSSpirit

The 1st annual 8th Grade VB Brag event took place at HMS on 10/03/19. Six 8th grade FB boys played six 8th grade VB girls in a volleyball match to 10. The FB boys won 10-7. Mr. Adigun & Mrs. Skinner were honorary coaches. Mrs. Nelson was the official and Mr. Barre kept score.

Big Thank you to Ghumm's Napa Auto Centers for the linemen gloves. These Hugoton Eagles offense linemen will put them to work at Nickerson this Friday.

Students in Ms. Hayes Intro to Algebra class are using pasta to learn how angles can help identify if triangles are similar. Making learning relevant and fun are engaging ways to keep students interested in their learning.



Hugoton will run mud routes PM 10/1 and all day 10/2.
Our Homecoming theme this year is Road Trip! Hometown Friday brought out the red, white, and blue in support of our football team who will play Kingman tonight at 7pm. Come for the tailgate at 5:30pm provided by the Sheriff's Department!
